Laundry Booster | Natural Cleaning | Live Simply Well [Episode 2]

Introduction

Welcome to my laundry room and to another episode of Live Simply Well! In this episode, we’re going to learn how to make a natural laundry booster that helps clean and brighten soiled clothes, and we’ll try it out. The receipt comes from page 110 of Simply Living Well by Julia Watkins.

Ingredients (per load)

  • 1/2 cup washing soda
  • 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide

Directions

  1. Spot-treat your clothes with a stain remover.
  2. Add the washing soda and hydrogen peroxide to your load.

Tip: Use this booster with laundry soap or detergent to enhance its performance.

Trying it Out: My Experience

I tested this booster on a load of my children’s clothes. My youngest daughter’s clothing is particularly heavily stained and soiled. While I didn’t expect it to fully remove old stains, compared to stain remover alone, it did clean and brighten my children’s soiled clothes. It’s kind of hard to tell in the video or photograph, but I did notice a visible difference.

I think that, with consistency of use over time, I’ll be able to significantly reduce my children’s clothing stains. So, I definitely recommend Julia’s recipe if you want a natural alternative to clean and brighten your laundry!
